VMware just recently announced a multi-year OEM agreement with Zedada to enable VMware customers to orchestrate edge devices in distributed environments, extending cloud, data center, and edge deployments to the Device Edge enabling non-x86 processor based small form factor devices.
The transport and logistics industries as well as oil & gas and energy sectors are dependent on smart edge solution to manage their sites, ships, vehicles in terrain that’s typically far away from corporate data centers and need to be managed in considerably tougher environments than known in corporate IT.
