Are Cloud-based healthcare services the solution to our healthcare challenges?
Well, there are no “silver bullets” – so no. But #Cloud can help and unlock completely new possibilities through #artificialintelligence/ machine learning as well as making data sharing easier by providing access independent of location.
Last week, at the Bundesverband Deutscher Versandapotheken BVDVA congress, I argued that (1) we should think of Cloud as an enabler and (2) need to remember that Cloud is not a place but an IT operating model.
Interestingly (as we found in a recent VMware–Flying Health study), 94% of actors in the healthcare system agreed that Cloud is an important enabler for intersectoral collaboration in their industry, but only 32% actually have a Cloud strategy. So for those still on the fence, it is getting time to prepare to take advantage of not just the possibilities AI/ML will present but also much more basic (some would say boring) process streamlining – or risk being left behind.
