Recently, the healthcare industry has been a very sensitive sector, being the victim of various types of cyberattacks. When working with a healthcare customer, as VMware partners, we discussed options to address some security challenges regarding the data flow between medical devices and data centers as well as between different hospital branches. This session will cover the features of VMware NSX to secure data channels between medical devices, such as magnetic resonance imaging devices and computed tomography scanners, in the hospital. We will also describe how VMware SD-WAN technology secures the transfer of medical data between branches/data centers of the hospital. This session will show the use of NSX Distributed Firewall (micro-segmentation), NSX Gateway Firewall, VPN, and VMware SD-WAN.
